It's all a series of misfortune, at least that's what they'll tell me. But I don't seem to know a thing about me. And she was right to doubt me. Because I am just a burnout sniffing for the next line. You made me like myself for the first time, and I miss you. But you don't even miss me. I bet you don't think about me. And all along, I don't even recall even knowing my name. I can't quite help myself to pretend that your words meant anything. Play it over in my head. Those words keep me away from my bed. And I can't quite recall who I really am. I wish that I could understand. But you made me forget myself. I thought I was a better man. I'm passed along as an anxious somber sole. I'm afraid of growing old and never want to be alone. But it's not that simple. When the weight of you collapsed on my shoulders, I wasn't meant to be loved. I was meant to be a fuckup. I hope you come to miss me. You'll hear my songs but you'll probably think they're empty.
